Acupuncture a complementary treatment

Acupuncture a complementary treatment

Acupuncture is a wonderful complementary treatment to add on to traditional for substance abuse management. In order for substance abuse to be effectively dealt with, a whole team of professionals need to be incorporated. Acupuncture is to Traditional Chinese Medicine what a specific remedy is to conventional western medicine. Just as surgery would never be recommended for all conditions, acupuncture was never intended to be a cure-all. Acupuncture is not used by itself as a treatment for cancer. Rather, it is used in combination with traditional cancer treatment options to help relieve symptoms related to cancer and cancer treatment.

Acupuncture is based on the belief that qi (vital energy) flows through the body along a network of paths, called meridians . Qi is said to affect a person?s spiritual , emotional, mental, and physical condition. Acupuncture is very safe in the hands of a trained specialist, and he or she should discuss possible side effects with you before performing the procedure. Overall, older adults experience far fewer side effects with acupuncture than with most medications; however, if you are afraid of needles, you may feel lightheaded or faint; or if you are taking blood thinners, you may develop bruising. Acupuncture is being used to indirectly influence the performance of a dog or horse. It?s best not to use acupuncture 48 to 60 hours before a race due to the sedating effect.

Acupuncture is a Chinese therapy that has been used for centuries. It is based on the theory that there is energy, called chi or qi, flowing through your body. Acupuncture is no different than receiving an injection or any other medical procedure. The area and equipment used must be clean. Acupuncture is different from western medicine since acupuncture points represent different places along the "energy channel.".So, it is possible that your acupuncturist may decide to place needles in different areas of your body. It may seem odd to have needles placed in your legs if you are having belly pain.

Acupuncture is used to balance the opposing forces of yin and yang, keep the normal flow of qi unblocked, and maintain or restore health to the body and mind. Acupuncture is a very old medical art, and there are many approaches to learning and practicing it. Medical acupuncture is the term used to describe acupuncture performed by a doctor trained and licensed in Western medicine who has also had thorough training in acupuncture as a specialty practice. Acupuncture is very safe. As one of teachers would always say, "acupuncture heals, it does not hurt".

Acupuncture is a great tool that can provide and teach New Yorkers new ways to relax and restore health to balance. Acupuncture is also used to maintain or restore health to the body and mind by stimulating the body?s natural healing abilities. Because of its ability to promote healing in the body it has been proven beneficial to those in eating disorder treatment centers and for those seeking treatment for drug abuse. Acupuncture is an important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that involves the insertion of thin needles at specific bodily points (acupoints), most of which are grouped according to their clinical effects on lines called meridians . The TCM theory of acupuncture is based in part on the premise that blood and energy termed Qi (pronounced chee) circulate in a cyclical fashion through these meridians.

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese method of treating ailments. The word acupuncture is made of two parts – ‘acus’ – which means a needle, and 'puncture'. Acupuncture is a relaxing procedure that could have some effect on muscle tension and thus slightly change your appearance. But that hardly seems worth $150 per treatment. Acupuncture is a safe and effective holistic medicine backed by more than two thousand years of practice and research. It is practiced worldwide both as a primary and adjunctive treatment for a wide range of conditions.
